Kauai's Aloha Beach offers discount stays
The Aloha Beach Resort Kauai is offering a variety of discounted packages for travel now through Dec. 20.
The resort's "Room & Car Package" includes a choice of room category and a compact car from Dollar Rent-A-Car.
The package starts at $140 per night (the regular rate is $198) for a Garden View room.
For stays through Oct. 31, the resort is sweetening the package rate even more by dropping the rate to $120 per night and upgrading the rental car to a midsize vehicle.
Designed to be enjoyed by two, Aloha Beach Resort's "Ocean View Special" includes ocean-view accommodations and daily breakfast for two.
The package rate is $145 per night, a savings off the normal rack rate of $231 per night.
Meanwhile, "The Snorkel Kauai Package" takes advantage of the property's location adjacent to Kauai's popular Lydgate Beach Park, one of the safest swimming and snorkeling areas on the island's east side, where guests can enjoy snorkeling in a protected cove that is home to colorful marine life.
This package includes a Garden View or Ocean View room for two; daily breakfast buffet for two; eco-friendly fish food (two packages per day); snorkel mask and fins for two; and use of one underwater camera.
This package starts at $140 per night for Garden View or $160 per night for an Ocean View room.
Let's not forget the "Romance Package" for couples. It includes three nights' accommodations in a Garden View room, Ocean View room, Junior Suite or private one-bedroom Cottage; a bottle of champagne; a midsize rental car; and dinner one evening with a $75 dining credit.
The three-night Romance Package rate starts at $495 for two in a Garden View category room.
For families there is an "Affordable Paradise Family Program."
Children under 18 stay free when sharing a room with their parents and using existing bedding; and children under 12 eat free at dinner when dining with a parent in the resort's restaurant. Cribs are complimentary.
The resort's 26 cottages offer particularly comfortable accommodations for families.
The hotel also offers many activities and interpretive programs designed to help guests of all ages understand and appreciate Hawaii's unique culture and the history of the surrounding area, which was sacred in ancient times.
The Aloha Beach Resort's cultural program was the 2006 recipient of the prestigious "Keep It Hawaii Kahili Award" from the Hawaii Tourism Authority, recognizing the property for its perpetuation of the Hawaiian culture.
All package rates are subject to 11.42 percent tax.
