Flu shots available
Flu shot clinics are scheduled statewide next month for Hawaii Medical Service Association, HMSA 65C Plus and HMSA QUEST members.
Flu shots and pneumococcal shots also will be provided at the HMSA booth at the Seniors' Fair this weekend on Oahu.
Only flu shots will be offered at the community clinics conducted by HMSA subsidiary ISI Health Enhancement Services.
HMSA members 18 or older may get the shots free while supplies last by showing their HMSA card and a photo ID. The fee for nonmembers is $35. There is no charge for Medicare Part B beneficiaries who show their Medicare card and a photo ID.
Flu shots are recommended for residents 65 and older, residents at long-term care facilities, health-care workers, pregnant women, children ages 6 months to 59 months, caregivers of infants less than 6 months old and anyone with a chronic medical condition.
