3 firms fined for air violations
The state Department of Health Clean Air Branch fined ConocoPhillips Co. $4,500 for exceeding the emission limit for organic compounds at its petroleum bulk loading terminal in Iwilei. The violation occurred during required annual performance tests, according to the state.
The Clean Air Branch has also fined two other companies for not conducting annual performance tests. Hawaiian Cement was fined $5,700 for not testing the equipment at its Halawa Quarry stone processing plant for 2004. And Henry's Equipment Rental and Sales, Inc. was fined $5,300 for failing to conduct tests of its stone crushing and screening plants for 2005.
