Aloha Week parade has had long ride

The annual floral parade through Waikiki celebrates 60 years of Aloha Week

Marching bands, floats, hula halau and pa'u riders celebrated the 60th anniversary of Aloha Week during the annual floral parade yesterday through Waikiki.

The anniversary theme "Na Paniolo Nui O Hawai'i" celebrates the great cowboys of Hawaii.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort & Spa won the Grand Sweepstakes trophy for its float. Maui won the Governor's Award for pa'u units and Kahoolawe swept the "pooper scooper" awards.
