Donovan joins KFVE broadcast crew
Jim Donovan will join the KFVE broadcast crew for University of Hawaii football games as a color analyst.
Donovan's first game will likely be Sept. 23 at Boise State. He joins play-by-play man Jim Leahey and second-year analyst Russell Yamanoha.
Donovan, who turns 47 next week, played offensive line for UH in 1981 and 1982. He was a graduate assistant coach and then associate athletic director for 10 years.
He is now executive director of the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.
"I think he's a terrific addition to the booth," Leahey said. "With all the things he's done he's probably overqualified."
Donovan replaces Doug Vaioleti, who wants to devote more time to his house-building business.
"Working with Jim will be very cool," Donovan said. "He was an icon back when I was playing."
