CPF rises 5.5%
Central Pacific Financial Corp. came out on top of the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin stock Index this week, leading a pack of seven gainers with an increase of 5.5 percent to close at $37.29.
Year to date, the parent company of Central Pacific Bank is up nearly 4 percent; over the last 12 months it is up nearly 9 percent.
Close on its heels for the week were fuel-cell technology developer Hoku Scientific Inc., up 4.9 percent to close at $3.86, and Hawaiian Airlines parent Hawaiian Holdings Inc., up 4.9 percent to $4.30.
The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
