Shimabukuro receives honor at Okinawan State House
JAKE SHIMABUKURO was named the 160th Okinawa-Uchina ambassador at the Okinawan State House Sept. 4. The Uchinanchus are Okinawa's native people. BOB KRAUSS, who died Sunday at 82, had an amazing 55-year career with the rival daily. He wrote columns about people from all walks of life. He even wrote one about me and the weird experiences I had as owner of the cushion rental concessions at Honolulu Stadium and Civic Auditorium in the early 1950s when I was a UH student.
