Kaupalolo said yesterday that as a precautionary measure, firefighters are monitoring areas and mopping up hot spots.
The fire was reported Friday and contained Sunday, after county firefighters and state forestry workers along with Air National Guard helicopters fought the blaze, which extended several miles from Maalaea to the Lahaina pali tunnel.
