3 men still at large in fatal beating
Police are still looking for three men suspected of beating a 47-year-old man to death in Waianae on Friday.
No arrests have been made, said Lt. Bill Kato of the Honolulu Police Department's homicide detail.
He said Roger Haudenshild of Makaha got in a fight with one of the three suspects near McDonald's.
Witnesses said the fight was over a traffic incident, police said.
Kato said Haudenshild was on a 10-speed bicycle and the suspects were in a white Ford sedan.
Someone broke up the fight, he noted.
Haudenshild had gone to Waianae Market afterward when the three suspects returned in the sedan, Kato said.
Police have said Haudenshild was beaten to death by the suspects in front of the market. He suffered severe head and facial injuries.
Haudenshild's mother, Theresa Kapaona, said she found out about her son's death when his girlfriend, Theresa, called from the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Center.
Kato described the suspects as three men in their early 20s.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
