HATS OFF TO OKINAWA

June Clark and others from the Kaneohe Senior Center performed a traditional Okinawan "hat dance" yesterday in Kapiolani Park at the 24th annual Okinawan Festival, an event that continues from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. The festival, organized by the clubs of the Hawaii United Okinawa Association, features food booths with items such as andagi, pig's feet soup and the OkiDog (hot dog, chili, lettuce and shoyu pork wrapped in a tortilla). There is also a plant sale, country store, and cultural displays and performances. Admission is free and a free shuttle runs from the Kapiolani Community College parking lot. CLICK FOR LARGE

Hundreds of teenagers attended the Summer Youth Worship Bash, a Christian music festival, yesterday at Kualoa Ranch. The festival featured live bands playing everything from punk rock to African drums). Evangeline Skeffington, 16, danced to hip-hop music by the band Twentyfour 64. CLICK FOR LARGE
