Altonn wins Healthy Mothers, Heart Association awards

Let's hear it for the Star-Bulletin's Helen Altonn, who is being recognized for her exceptional work. Helen is being honored with the President's Award from the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Hawaii for her long-standing contribution to Hawaii's health community and the health and welfare of Hawaii's people. She will receive the award at a luncheon Oct. 6 at the Prince Hotel. Helen also received a communication award from the American Heart Association of Hawaii this week. Fendi's fall-winter fashion collection stands tall

Fendi rolled out its fall-winter collection Thursday night at its Ala Moana store. Tall models Ying Ying Lee, Leah Baker and Marisa Gey, wearing Fendi heels that were quite high, towered over most guests as they displayed fashions that included furs, jeans and bags. Fendi GM Patrick Gey, husband of Marisa, had Valentini cater the event, which was loaded with beautiful people. Miss Hawaii Teen USA Hannah Thomas, 17, a Kamehameha senior who loves water sports, added more beauty to the party by attending with her sister Eden Carney. Hannah is on the school's swimming, water polo and kayak teams and says she also surfs ... Chuck Furuya sends word that the gang at Vino has Philippe Padovani, who is now in the chocolates business, as guest chef at the Restaurant Row spot next Saturday. Cost for Padovani's four-course dinner is $39. Diners can buy wine by the glass ...
