Recording artist and record producer Junior Mika Togiola, center, celebrated his graduation from Hawaii Pacific University with Samoan music and food at the LDS Honolulu West Stake Center in Kalihi last Friday. Mika earned his bachelor's degree in political science and plans to go to graduate school. In addition to his musical career and a full-time nonmusical "day job," he also works in a community outreach program at City Hall. Chief G. Pulefano, second from right, joined Mika and his family -- mother Me Mika Togiola, left, brother Albert, niece Mativa, grandfather Togiola Vaesau, and father Tofilua Mika Togiola -- to welcome well-wishers. An overflow crowd rewarded the cast with hearty applause on opening night for "The Pillowman" at the ARTS at Marks Garage last Friday. Bloodstained Gilbert Molina stars as a suspected child killer; Troy M. Apostol, next to him, plays his retarded brother. Christopher Cappelleti, third from left, and Reb Beau Allen, in black, co-star as the ruthless detectives determined to crack the case, while Jaedee-Kay Vergara, front left, Nicole Tessier and Frank Katasse, play important secondary characters. Kim Kim, left, Kelly Phu and Krista Nguyen were part of the capacity crowd that filled Indigo for "Get Fresh" on Aug 11. The crowd was especially big because Missing Dave was playing in one room, and there was a surprise birthday party for veteran nightclub deejay and events promoter G of Double-O Spot Productions in another.
