» Dusty Bergman (Hawaii) was placed on the disabled list Wednesday by the Fresno Grizzlies. The left-hander is suffering from a strained right hamstring.
» Reid Santos (Castle, Saddleback), a left-hander, is tied with three other pitchers for the most hit batters in the South Atlantic League with 11.
» Patrick McGuigan (Mid-Pacific, U. San Francisco) has been promoted from rookie ball to the Auburn, N.Y., Doubledays in the short-season Class A New-York-Penn League by the Toronto Blue Jays after posting a 1.53 earned-run average for Pulaski, Va., in the Appalachian League. Auburn is in a three-way race for first place in the Pickney Division.
» Chad Bailey (Campbell, Seminole State) has been transferred to the Tri-City (Pasco, Wash.) Dust Devils in the short-season Class-A Northwest League. Tri-City is in a battle for first place in the East Division with the Boise, Idaho, Hawks.
» Mark Okano (Aiea, New Mexico) has finished the regular season with Tecate. He was 8-for-29 (.276) in the first round of the playoffs, but Tecate was eliminated in seven games.
