The Women's Health Center at the Queen's Medical Center has been selected by a national leader in women's health as the "Success Profile" for 2006.

The Colorado-based Snowmass Institute cited the center for excellence in clinical programs, high patient satisfaction and an unusual spalike setting.

A national professional organization for women's hospitals and clinics, Snowmass Institute holds an annual conference called "Achieving Success in Women's Health." It selects one center or hospital to profile at the conference and in a professional newsletter, and chose the Queen's center this year.

The center was designed to provide what women in the community said they wanted for overall health needs, Queen's officials said in a news release.

Its services include genetic consultations, health risk appraisals, osteoporosis evaluations and treatments, menopause consultations and diagnostic services, including mammography, and ultrasound.

The center has won design awards for its unique setting and is considered "a model for innovation in women's health," according to Queen's officials.
