"BIKINIS AND MARTINIS" was the theme as fashion designer Chelsea Gines previewed the 2007 designs for her swimwear line, "Chelsea Gines for Pualani" at the Elks Club on Friday. The party started at 6, but the main event began a little after 7, when Gines' models and their male escorts kicked off an hourlong parade of contemporary beachwear fashions.
In addition to bikinis, the show also included cover-ups, and designs for 'tweens, kids and toddlers.
The poolside party didn't stop when the fashion show was over. Several people jumped into the pool after Rob Trauger, one of the escorts, got things started by tossing a model into the water.
Proceeds from the cover charge and food sales benefited Elks Club community programs. Beer and exotic martinis, included in the cover charge, added to the convivial vibe.
