Former HAL hostesses open Koa'e Kea membership
OFFICERS of Koa'e Kea, former Hawaiian Airlines DC3 hostesses, are inviting all former HAL stewardesses and flight attendants to join them as members. The group meets for a social gala and a business luncheon each year. Members also receive a newsletter. The group is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The gala, "A night at the Royal (Hawaiian)," is scheduled for Nov. 4. The members have plenty of fun, with much hula and singing at these parties. For information on joining, call

MACHIKO KYO, a Japanese actress who in 1956 had a big role in "Teahouse of the August Moon" starring Marlon Brando and Glenn Ford, dined with friends in the Hilton's Bali-by-the-Sea fine-dining restaurant on Friday July 28 ... Olympic skating champ Apolo Anton Ohno was seen in the Paradise Lounge just outside the Bali with Kimo Spencer, digging the sounds of Jerry Santos and Olomana. Apolo was speeding around town with Billie Gabriel and Kimo during his visit. Billie took him to Lt. Gov. Duke Aiona's office with her Easter Seals Special Olympics medal winners July 28.
