‘Beach Blanket Babylon’
The suggested dress code for "Beach Blanket Babylon" at the Ocean Club was "beach blanket bombshell," but only the door guards, Kristina Foster and Tiana DeBell, wore anything close to beach attire for the monthly Piranha Room party on July 29. Although no one got in free by wearing an "itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini," the club quickly filled to capacity. Late-comers were still waiting to get in at 1 a.m.
An amazing performance by graceful contortionist Princess Gana of Cirque Hawaii was the highlight of the night.
The Ocean Club's monthly Piranha Room buffet was also a hit, with the pizza particularly popular.
Despite the lack of participation regarding beach wear, the party was another success for one of Hawaii's longest-running nightclub events. The Piranha Room returns Aug. 26.
A performance by Princess Gana of Cirque Hawaii was a dramatic show-stopper.
