THE SEARCH FOR SIGNS OF
HAWAIIAN LIFE
IN THE UNIVERSE
COURTESY PHOTO
It's a long way from the North Shore of Oahu to the desert of southeastern Arizona, but two of Hawaii's best-known watermen are remembered on this lonely spot along Arizona State Route 90, between the old copper mining town of Bisbee and bustling Sierra Vista. The sign and an identical one posted a mile west have been up for a number of years. The photo was submitted by Mike and Judy Anderson, currently of Bisbee, Ariz., but who'd rather be in Hilo.
