Friday
"Jazzified," 9 p.m. at the Hanohano Room. No cover. Call 623-8105.
The first weekend of the month means its another "SKYLiNE" Saturday, but head to the Sheraton Waikiki a day early for jazz with a twist, courtesy of John Valentine.
"Jazzified" promises to take any song (even "Baby Got Back" or "The Thong Song?") and flip it, jazz-style, with help from Yvette Nii, Ashlee Harding, Hal Mita, bassist Omar Abing and Stacey Tangonan.
And since there's no cover on Fridays, all you have to do is pay for drinks!
Saturday
"In4mation Hawaii 4th Anniversary Party," 10 p.m. at Coyote Nights. Cover: $5.
Local clothing and lifestyle company In4mation Hawaii celebrates four years in business this weekend with a reunion show by Unit 101.
Originally formed in 1993, Unit 101 is a punk quartet that opened for the likes of NoFX, Social Distortion, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes and other mainland acts that came to Oahu for concerts. This weekend is the first time they'll play together since breaking up in 2001. DJs from the Main Ingredient and Nocturnal Sound Krew will also be on hand.
Saturday
"Punk Rock Marathon," 1 p.m. at Detox. Cover: $10.
Too cool for that mainstream rock show going on at the Waikiki Shell on Saturday? Head to Detox for the all-ages "Punk Rock Marathon," featuring more than two dozen local punk bands. Doors open at 1 p.m. on Saturday, with live music for 12 hours straight. Oi! Oi!
