» Darren Blakely (Hawaii), released by the Chicago White Sox on June 22, has been signed by the Los Angeles Angels, the team that originally drafted the outfielder in 1998. Blakely has been assigned to the Salt Lake Bees in the Class AAA Pacific Coast League.
» Zach McAngus (Kamehameha, Air Force, Washington State) has signed a free-agent contract with the Milwaukee Brewers. The third baseman has been assigned to the Brewers in the Arizona League, a rookie circuit.
» Ricky Bauer (Mid-Pacific, Hawaii), after a week with the San Jose Giants in the Class A advanced California League, has been assigned to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in the short-season Class A Northwest League. The right-hander is recovering from tendinitis in his right arm and has not been activated yet.
