Charity breakfast to fund treatment of sex abuse

Guest chef Michael Arita will prepare $100 VIP meals for groups of four

Finance Factors will host a benefit breakfast Friday to raise funds for the Sex Abuse Treatment Center at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children.

Portuguese sausage, eggs and rice breakfasts will be dished out at $5 per plate from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. in front of Finance Factors Center, 1164 Bishop St.

Employees have sold about 850 of 1,000 breakfast tickets and they will serve the meals. The remaining tickets can be purchased at the event.

Russell Lau, chief executive officer of Finance Factors, will help with the event and employees will deliver breakfast orders of 10 or more in the downtown area.

Guest chef Michael Arita of the Pacific Beach Hotel will create special breakfasts to be served in a reserved area to VIP groups of four for $100. Finance Factors President Steven Teruya will host the gourmet breakfast.

The Sex Abuse Treatment Center for 30 years has provided comprehensive services to sex abuse survivors and their families. Last year, 635 sex assault victims were treated at the center.

New Eagle Cafe has joined Finance Factors to present the 2006 breakfast benefit.
