You, too, can flash 'The Devil Wears Prada' look
There's no such thing as a kiddie movie without a fast-food tie-in, and now movie marketers have wised up to the windfall that can also follow a film that's a major fashion event.
Thus, those inspired by the couture sheen of "The Devil Wears Prada," opening tomorrow, can set their fashion aim in that direction by shopping Amazon.com's "The Devil Wears Prada" boutique or heading to Sephora for tips on how to achieve Anne Hathaway's look as Andy in the tale of a hapless assistant's education at the hands of a haughty New York fashion editor.
At Amazon, pick up tank tops ($12.99) or T-shirts ($14.99) featuring a memorable line from the film, "I'm just one stomach flu away from my goal weight," as well as merch selected to bestow instant style. Pieces range from a Necessary Objects tube sweater with a V-neck tie, $36, to a long summer gown by Vivienne Tam, $550. In between, you could pick up a Lauren by Ralph Lauren Marletta striped halter dress for $72.99, marked down from $139.

(If you're so inclined, the real deal, as worn by Meryl Streep in the film, can be found at the Prada stores at Ala Moana Center and on Kalakaua Avenue.)
Also available for $79.95 on Amazon is the handbag carried by Hathaway in the film. The versatile La Rue distressed leather studded purse, designed by "Sex and the City" stylist Patricia Field, has a fold-over design that transforms from messenger bag to clutch, and has proved to be a hit in real life as well. With early shipments sold out, reserve now and wait until Aug. 1 for the new stock to arrive.
Makeup artist Nicki Ledermann was responsible for creating Hathaway's polished look as she is transformed from a fresh-faced, low-maintenance college girl to jet-setting fashionista. For Hathaway's most sophisticated scenes, Ledermann turned to red lips by BeneFit and Dior and hard eyeliner by Dior.
Sephora offers tips on how to achieve the look, with a display at the front of the Ala Moana store highlighting the Dior products and Prada fragrances.
To get the look, Ledermann used pearly white Stila Shadow Pot in Moon, $20, on Hathaway's upper eyelids and lower lash line. She lined the upper lash line with Dior Crayon Eyeliner in Black, $23, and coated the eyelashes in DiorShow Mascara in Black 090, $23.
Ledermann turned to Benefit's rosy tint, Benetint, $28. She then dotted Dior Addict Lipstick in Positive Red 857, $23.50, in the center of the lips, blending it with her fingers to create a matte, stained effect for a wearable red that doesn't overwhelm, particularly if you've never gone so bold before.
