Achilles Gacis, center, joined six other members of the Hawaiian Stunt Connection as they broke for lunch during filming of "Futuristic Combat Systems 2006" in central Honolulu on Sunday. "FCS 2006" will show how America's next generation of integrated weapons systems will function on the battlefields of 2015. Local stuntmen Craig Davidson, left, Sonny Sison, Danny Kim, Jon Sakata, Darin Fujimori and Ronan Sakai portrayed soldiers of a generic Third World nation. Alphonso Braggs and Jewel McDonald enjoyed Tyrese Gibson's new action film, "Waist Deep," when they caught a preview screening at Dole Cannery on Thursday. McDonald liked the balance between "the love story and action." Braggs praised it for showing "a father hanging on to his love for his kid, and for that kid not to give up the love of his father."

Liz Hata Watanabe, center, was greeted by her mother, Dorothy Ganhinhin, and her husband, Kevin Watanabe, after she was named one of Hawaii's top business people age 40 or younger at the Hawaii Convention Center on Friday. Her transparent "Forty Under 40" award will look great at the O Lounge!

Allison Chu added feminine pizzazz to Pierre Grill's musical "circus" at the Elks' Club on Sunday. Grill, who can play three instruments at once, is a show by himself. Chu was a charmer as his guest vocalist on a bright arrangement of "Orange Colored Sky."
