A Big Isle man pleads not guilty to charges relating to members of the Ice Task Force
HILO » A preliminary hearing was set for tomorrow for Francis "Adobo" Carter, 37, charged with two counts of terroristic threatening in connection with an alleged plot to kill two Hawaii County police officers on the department's Ice Task Force, Deputy Prosecutor Jason Skier said.
Carter pleaded not guilty in District Court yesterday, and his bail was maintained at $200,000.
Testimony during tomorrow's hearing is expected to reveal details of the plan disclosed by police Friday, in which Carter allegedly intended to kill two officers and their families, Skier said.
Arrested Friday in the parking lot of the building where he lived, Carter had been free of $100,000 bail in connection with drug charges, including for methamphetamine, Skier said.
