Four Hawaii players made their professional debuts last week.
» Matt Inouye (Mid-Pacific, Hawaii) was 3-for-4 with a double and both runs batted in in an 8-2 loss to Johnson City on Thursday. He came back Friday with a 3-for-5 night and three RBIs, including two on a line single to center in the Bristol White Sox's four-run seventh en route to an 8-3 victory.
» Kanekoa Texeira (Kamehameha, Saddleback) pitched one shutout inning in Bristol's win Friday night. The right-hander retired the side in order on two strikeouts and a fly ball.
» Patrick McGuigan (Mid-Pacific, San Francisco) was credited with a hold in the Pulaski Blue Jays' 4-2 win over Princeton on Thursday night. The right-hander retired the four batters he faced on two ground balls and two strikeouts.
» Esteban Lopez (Hawaii) was 0-for-2 for the Dodgers in the Gulf Coast League after entering the game as a pinch hitter Wednesday.
» Rodney Choy Foo (Kailua) was 15-for-35 (.429) last week with a double, two triples, two home runs and six RBIs for the Kinston Indians.
» Isaac Omura (Mid-Pacific, Hawaii) hit .379 last week on 11 hits in 29 at-bats with three doubles, a triple and 6 RBIs for the Kane County Cougars.
» Kurt Suzuki (Baldwin, Cal State Fullerton) was the starting catcher for the South Division in the Texas League All-Star Game last Tuesday. He went 0-for-3, but the South won 1-0.
» Kala Ka'aihue (Iolani) was the starting first baseman for the Southern Division in the South Atlantic League All-Star Game last Tuesday. He was 1-for-3, but the South lost 4-0.
» Mike Lum (Roosevelt), hitting coach for the West Virginia Power (Charleston, W. Va.), was one of the Southern Division coaches for the SAL All-Star Game.
» Lenn Sakata (Kalani, Gonzaga), the 2005 California League Manager of the Year, guided the San Jose Giants to the first-half North Division title this year with a 41-29 record. » Josh Green (Hawaii) has retired due to family obligations. He was scheduled to be the starting right fielder for the Fullerton Flyers in the independent Golden Baseball League.
