RESTAURANT REPORT
A strolling violinist
Sergio's in the Hilton Hawaiian Village has added a touch of class to its dinner experience: A violinist will stroll through the restaurant Saturday and Sunday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m.
Two professional musicians will share the assignment. John "Juan" DeVilbiss will perform when Honolulu Symphony violinist Rami Gepner is not available.
Instead of traditional tuxedos, they will wear dark shirts to make patrons -- a mix of visitors and residents -- feel comfortable in the casual environment.

Docent training at TCM
The Contemporary Museum is accepting applications for its docent program, with a minimum two-year commitment.
Docents-in-training will meet each week from September 2006 through May 2007 to learn from practicing artists about the methods and materials of art-making, and engage in discussions with art historians and theorists to help facilitate exploration of the arts by museum visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
