Hawaii gymnasts win at U.S. Elite Challenge
Three Hawaii gymnasts won events at the U.S. Elite Challenge in Las Vegas yesterday.
In the junior elite division, Nani Vercruyssen placed first on trampoline, third on double mini-trampoline and first in synchronized trampoline with partner Kaci Berry of San Diego.
Also, Spencer Madanay and Kelsen Onigama teamed up to win synchronized trampoline in the pre-elite division.
Madanay also took fourth on trampoline and 10th on double mini-tramp. Onigama also placed fourth on double mini-tramp and seventh on trampoline.
Other Hawaii gymnasts did well: Matt Moniz (fourth on double mini-tramp and 10th on trampoline in the senior elite division); Kira Vercruyssen (14th on trampoline in the pre-elite division); and Spencer Dupio (seventh on double mini-tramp and 21st on trampoline in the junior elite division.
