Shop to benefit the arts
Go shopping while helping to support Movement Center dance and theatrical programs for keiki.
The center is selling tickets for Macy's Oahu stores' Community Shopping Day. Purchase of a $10 ticket entitles the buyer to a 10 to 20 percent discount on most items tomorrow, as well as the opportunity to enjoy special in-store events, product samplings and more.
While there, enter to win a $500 Macy's Shopping Spree.
All proceeds from tickets sold by TMC volunteers will be donated to TMC, located at 1215 Center St., Suite 211, in Kaimuki. For more information, call 735-8641.

Ballet workshops on tap
Ballet Hawaii will feature a series of workshops in ballet and modern technique, variation and improvisation from Monday through June 24.
Miho Kanani Morinoue, originally from the Big Island and with a decade-long career with the Complexions Contemporary Ballet Company in New York, will be joined by Lynn Barre and Jodie Gates.
Barre is known for exploring movement as a way of finding balance. Gates is the artistic director of the Laguna Dance Festival in California.
Workshops run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. weekdays and 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. A week's residency is $115, with single classes $20. Call 521-8600.
Local photos sought
Grab your cameras! Photos are now being sought for the "My Hawaii Photo Gallery" contest. Photos should reflect local culture in the following categories: fine art, life at the beach, cuisine, culture, family fun, golf, outdoor activities, romance, shopping and spa activities.
The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau will create an online photo album for entries sent to GoHawaii.com/photocontest.
Photos must be at least 300 dpi resolution but no larger than 3 megabytes. Only digital photos by Hawaii residents 18 and older will be accepted.
Three winners will receive prizes. The first-place winner will receive two round-trip tickets to any mainland destination served by Hawaiian Airlines. Second-place winner receives two round-trip interisland tickets. Third-place winner receives a free one-year membership to in Hawaiian's Premier Club program.
