Happy 86th, Carol!
A SPECIAL LEI:
JOHN BERGER / JBERGER@STARBULLETIN.COM
Bill Ka'iwa arrived fashionably on time when Carol Yap celebrated her 86th birthday with an intimate dinner party at the Kahalu'u Fish Pond May 29. Always the old-style Hawaiian gentleman, Ka'iwa brought Yap a special seed lei as a birthday gift, and then sang, played 'ukulele and danced hula during an informal show in the Aloha Ke Akua Chapel before dinner. Yap's daughter, Linda Wong, explained that since they were having the party at "the sea wall house" instead of on the mauka lawn, the guest list was kept much smaller than for her mother's 85th birthday party last year.
