Woman’s body found with marks on neck
A man is being questioned in Marci McCrobie's death
Homicide police are investigating the death of a 34-year-old woman whose body was found Thursday in Kahuku.
Officers arrested the woman's boyfriend yesterday on unrelated charges but said he was not a suspect, only a "person of interest."
Police said the 32-year-old homeless man called on Thursday morning and said his girlfriend hung herself. The call was disconnected before the operator could get more information.
Later that morning, the man told a friend that his girlfriend had hung herself, police said. The friend called police and led officers to the body, which was wrapped in a blanket in a neighborhood near the Turtle Bay Resort.
Police said the woman had injuries consistent with a hanging, but also had other bruises.
The woman was identified yesterday by the Medical Examiner's Office as Marci McCrobie, 34. The Medical Examiner said the cause of death is pending results of the investigation and a toxicology test.
Around midday yesterday, the man, who frequents the Hauula area, was spotted in a gold vehicle. He abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, police said.
Plainclothes officers caught him and arrested him on an unrelated warrant and for driving without a license.
