Daniela Paluselli will portray St. Joan of Arc
A play about the life of St. Joan of Arc will be presented at 7 p.m. May 29 at the Hawai'i Convention Center Lili'u Theater.
Actress Daniela Paluselli will portray the French heroine and saint in "Joan of Arc: The Night Before," produced by Ad Aspera, an arts education organization. The opening of the play was timed to coincide with the 575th anniversary of Joan of Arc's death in Rouen, France. The 15th-century French woman, claiming divine visions, inspired the French troops of King Charles VII to victories during the Hundred Years' War. She was captured by the British and burned at the stake May 30, 1431.
The play will be repeated at 2 and 8 p.m. June 3 and 11 at the theater. Tickets at $25 may be purchased at the door. Cash only.
