Fashionistas are back
The Style Sisters Emi Hart and Alyssa Fung are hosting a start of summer Fashionista's Market that's part sample sale, part traveling boutique, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Ocean Club at Restaurant Row.
This month's sale features 40 designer brand names including Juicy Couture, Elie Tahari, Free People, Theory, BCBG, 7 For All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, Grass Jeans, DKNY, Lucky Brand Jeans, Blue Cult, Sweetees, 575 Denim, Marc Jacobs, Antik Denim, J & Company, RVCA, Dianne Von Furstenberg, Smashing Grandpa, Fendi, Versace, and more, offered at up to 75 percent off retail prices.
The first 50 through the door each day will receive a goody bag containing beauty samples and a complimentary issue of Smart magazine.
RSVP to www.fashionistasmarket.com for $3 admission; $7 without RSVP, with a portion of funds raised benefitting Life Foundation of Hawaii.
Ground rules: Leave the purse at home (you have pockets don't you?), payments must be by cash or credit card, and perhaps most importantly, wear your best undies for the communal dressing room.
H&M taps Viktor, Rolf
For those waiting, H&M's next fall collaborator will be the design duo Viktor & Rolf, known for high-concept fashion shows and a modern twist on classic tailored clothes.
Like Karl Lagerfeld and Stella McCartney in seasons past, Viktor & Rolf will design a one-time collection to be produced and distributed by H&M, a clothing monolith based in Sweden, with stores throughout Europe, North America and the Middle East.
Past collections have drawn frenzied crowds and soldout in a few hours. The clothing will hit the market in November. Don't worry if you can't make the trip to the boutiques on the West Coast; like any collectibles, garments will also find their way onto eBay a few hours after release, though at more than the speculators paid for them.
