Former UH ADs elected to hall of fame

Former University of Hawaii athletic directors are among 22 administrators selected for induction to the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics Hall of Fame.

Paul Durham and Ray Nagel will be honored at the NACDA convention, June 20-23 in New Orleans.

Durham served as football coach at Linfield for 20 years before being named UH athletic director in 1968. He helped move the UH athletic program toward Division I membership in his seven years as AD and played a major role in the school's eventual admission to the Western Athletic Conference.

Nagel worked as AD at Washington State and served at UH from 1976-83. He went on to work for the Los Angeles Rams and Bank of Hawaii and he was executive director of the Hula Bowl.
