Hawaii strong safety Lono Manners and offensive lineman Brandon Eaton secured auditions with NFL teams yesterday.

Manners will work out for the San Diego Chargers next week and Eaton will do so for the Washington Redskins beginning Thursday.

"It's not a guarantee free-agent deal, I'm just getting a tryout. But I'm excited about it," Manners said.

Manners' agent, Bob Apisa, also has set up tryouts at Seattle and Atlanta for the 5-foot-10, 218-pound Waianae High School graduate.

Eaton, a three-year starter at guard and tackle for UH who also played center, said he hopes his versatility helps him with the Redskins.

"I'm just going to go into camp and do what I do best and try to get a contract," the 6-foot-2, 312-pound Eaton said.
