Wong's 'Back to the Roots' party helps Plantation Village

Leigh Itosaid it took months of planning to do the party. Alan researched authentic ethnic dishes that inspired his menu. Twenty-four dishes and five desserts were presented at the stand-up affair. ABIGAIL KAWANANAKOAcelebrated her 80th birthday April 22 at Lanikuhonua with about 300 people. On April 24, she was honored by 24 state senators, led by Sen.
Clayton Hee, in the Senate chambers. The descendant of Hawaiian royalty was recognized for her work restoring Iolani Palace and for her efforts to preserve Hawaiian culture.
