Brunches/Dinners
45th Annual Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast: 6:30 to 11 a.m. at Benjamin Parker Elementary School. Cost is $5, $2.50 children, to benefit Kaneohe Kiwanis Club. Steakhouse: Mother's Day weekend menu, 5 to 10 p.m. May 13 and 14, includes crab cakes, fresh oysters, beef capriccio or smoked salmon; choice of lobster bisque or caprese salad and entree choice of rack of lamb; surf and turf; sautéed mixed grill with tiger prawns, scallops and fresh fish; steamed moi; or prime rib. Hiroshi Eurasion Tapas: Brunch includes blue crab cake, beef mandoo and nalo green salad, choice of teriyaki chicken or halibut, and cheese cake napoleon. Served from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $29, $14.50 children. Dinner menu includes roasted garlic stuffed shrimp, grilled Caesar salad, seafood ravioli and chocolate napoleon. Hong Kong Harbor View Seafood Restaurant: Nine-course meal includes shrimp and chicken salad, golden mushroom and seafood shark fin soup, Peking duck, lobster with black pepper and butter sauce, fish and dried scallop, egg yolk rice and mango pudding. Hula Grill Waikiki: Breakfast served 6:30 a.m. to noon features assortment of omelets, pancakes and more. Dinner appetizers include scallop and lobster potstickers, wok-charred ahi Caesar salad for appetizers; entrees include grilled ono, sesame opah, Asian-style crab cakes, filet steak kiana and cold-water lobster tail. Indigo Restaurant: Brunch served 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. features dim sum assortment, imported cheeses, lemongrass-cured salmon gravlox, omelet bar, chicken with Indigo peanut sauce, New York strip with chili black bean sauce, kalua roast pork with raspberry hoisin sauce, fresh fish, desserts, more. Pikake Terrace: Brunch buffet includes prime rib, waffle and omelet bar, poached eggs on smoked salmon, pulehu-style chicken and more. Served 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $32.50, $16.25 children. Frank De Lima show: At the Ala Moana Hotel. Brunch served 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $35, $19.50 children. Dinner buffet, 5:45 to 8 p.m., costs $37, $20.50 children. Both buffets feature prime rib, salads and fruits, desserts and entertainment by De Lima. Hot entrees for brunch include fried chicken breast on risotto cakes and assorted breakfast meats. "MOMumental Mother's Day Match Game": Sista Sherry of KRTR hosts a family trivia contest, 4 p.m. at Windward Mall. Mother/child sign-ups begin at 2:45 p.m. Ten teams will play on a first-come, first-served basis. Test how well you know each other. Mother's Day Cruises: Star of Honolulu departs from Aloha Tower Marketplace, Pier 8. Lunch Cruise, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., features roast beef buffet lunch, champagne toast, door prizes, cultural activities and hula show. Cost is $33.88 kamaaina and military, $20.33 children. Program focuses on low back pain
An exercise program for low back pain will be presented by doctors at the Windward YMCA-Kailua's "Lunch & Learn" Wellness Lecture Series from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Thursday.
Speakers will be Drs. Todd Thompson, neurosurgeon specializing in the spine, and Diane Thompson, psychiatrist with expertise in chronic pain syndromes.
The wellness lectures are provided in cooperation with Ohana Pacific Rehab Services-Kailua.

Nurses' contributions celebrated tomorrow
Nurses International, Inc., will recognize the contributions of nurses to health care with a program from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the state Capitol tomorrow.
National Nurses Day is celebrated Saturday, opening National Nurses Week and ending May 12 on the birthday of Florence Nightingale.
Nurses International chose May Day or Lei Day in Hawaii tomorrow, with live music performed by Halawa.
Nurses Week recognizes 2.7 million licensed nurses, 700,000 licensed practical nurses, 600,000 home health aides and 1.4 million nurses' aides.
