GLADYS GOT A BRAND NEW (FENDI) BAG!: Gladys Vernoy, honorary Consul General of Chile, was congratulated by Patrick Gey, general manager of Fendi, as she celebrated her birthday with an informal luncheon and fashion show at the Plaza Club last Friday. A select group of women friends and a few adventurous men joined Vernoy for lunch and a preview of Fendi spring fashions that included the new B. Fendi bag. The Fendi box and B. Fendi bag they're admiring is actually Vernoy's birthday cake, but her husband, Dr. Terry Vernoy, "surprised" her later during the party with a real Fendi box containing the real deal.

FENDI FANS: Dr. Terry Vernoy, standing left, entertained most of the men who attended at a separate "boys table" during lunch, while his wife and her friends enjoyed girl talk and the fashion show. Patrick Gey, standing center, provided Fendi fans as souvenir table favors for all the attendees. John Gilbert, left, Ash Matar, Waldemar Rojek and Robert Palma joined Vernoy and Gey in showing that they are all "Fendi fans."

FASHION TALK: Nora Meijide-Gentry, left, resplendent in feathers, talked with Eileen Tokita and Patricia Henderson while other guests were arriving.
