Mom's day made easy
By popular demand, the Hilton Hawaiian Village is offering a kamaaina rate starting at $150 per room per night for stays between April 28 and May 21.
The period includes the Mother's Day weekend, May 12 through 14, and might be a perfect way to treat Mom to a weekend of relaxation.
For reservations, call the hotel at 949-4321 and ask for rate code "P3" for those dates.
Pagoda offers value
Through the end of April 2006, the Pagoda Hotel, recognized by kamaaina as Hawaii's best value hotel, is offering a $80 room-and-breakfast kamaaina special Sunday through Thursday nights through the end of the month. On Fridays and Saturdays, the kamaaina rate for a room for two and breakfast is $89 a night.
The hotel, famous for its koi ponds, is at 1525 Rycroft St., a convenient site for shoppers, with Ala Moana Center, Wal-Mart and Sam's Club nearby.
The offer is based on one to two people per room, per night with existing bed arrangements. Subject to availability and applicable taxes. The offer could change without notice and cannot be combined with any other offer. A valid Hawaii ID is required.

Museum gets face lift
The 104-year-old Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum building in Puunene, Maui, recently received a face lift.
Built in 1902 and used as the former residence of plantation mill superintendents, the historic building has welcomed half a million visitors in the 18 years it has been open to the public, according to museum Director Gaylord Kubota.
The refurbished museum will be the site of the fourth annual Maui Sugar Plantation Festival on Aug. 5.
