Kuehu, Buffanblu roll over Spartans

Shawna-Lei Kuehu scored 13 of her game-high 19 points in the first half as No. 2 Punahou defeated Maryknoll 75-36 last night in Interscholastic League of Honolulu girls basketball at the Damien High School gym.

The Buffanblu led handily throughout, including 41-20 at the break.

Punahou (5-1) still trails first-place Iolani (4-0) in the ILH standings.

Melanie Feldman and Sophie Merrifield added seven points apiece for the Buffanblu.

Kimberly Henderson and Samantha Chung led the Spartans with 12 points each.

The Star-Bulletin's top-ranked Raiders will try to maintain their hold on first place with games against Kamehameha tonight and tomorrow night.
