All's clear for those heading back to Kauai after the rains. To welcome back golfers, the Princeville Golf Courses are offering a $50 green fee for kamaaina at the Makai and Prince courses this month. Kamaaina rates are usually $85 at the Prince and $57 at Makai.
The $50 green fee is offered for play seven days a week on all available tee times through April 30, 2006. The offer is valid for 18 holes of play at the Prince Course, named by Golf Digest as Hawaii's No. 1 golf course, and 27 holes at the Makai Course, among Hawaii's top 15 courses.

'Paws' for pets
It's fiesta time for the 10th annual "Tropical Paws," a fundraising benefit for the Hawaii Island Humane Society at 6 p.m. May 5 in the Hilton Waikoloa Village Grand Ballroom.
The Cinco de Mayo gala will include a silent and live auction, creative cuisine, margaritas and dancing. Among the auction items are a two-night Four Seasons Hualalai package including breakfast for two both days, dinner for two and two rounds of golf; and a two-night Chicago Cultural Odyssey at Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, golf at Idlewild Country Cub, two tickets to Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, dinner at Joe's Sports Bar & Grill, four VIP passes to Shedd Aquarium and a Chicago River Architecture Tour.
