Honolulu No. 1 in nation on quality of life survey
Forget the sewage spills, potholes and high prices. Honolulu has the best quality of life in the nation, according to a consulting firm's survey.
Mercer Human Resource Consulting's worldwide survey ranked Honolulu 27th, two places down from last year's ranking but still good enough for best in the U.S. Zurich, Switzerland, was No. 1, while Baghdad, Iraq, was last of the more than 350 cities studied.
The company, which does the survey to help companies and governments place employees on international assignments, said the ranking is based on political, environmental, economic, education, safety, and other factors. ---- Star-Bulletin staff
