'Celebration' starts
"Life Unfolding" by N. Robert Wagstaff, has been selected as the Signature Artwork for The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua's "Celebration of the Arts," taking place Thursday through April 16. The work was chosen to reflect the theme "Kukulu I Ho'oilina (Establish a Legacy)" of the 14th annual event.
The painting portrays a hapu'u or Hawaiian tree fern native to Hawaii. Throughout Polynesia, the unfurling of the fern bud represents new life and the future.
During the festival, there will be music, films, workshop, foods, opportunities to interact with cultural practitioners and hands-on art demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 14 and 15. Wagstaff will be available to sign copies of the poster featuring his work from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 3 to 5 p.m. both days.

Romance on Big Isle
