Pier One to open in Kailua
Pier One Imports makes its way to Kailua, opening a new store at the Kailua Town Center, 609 Kailua Road, under the guidance of general manager Alika Parker.
A grand opening celebration will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow, with a traditional Hawaiian blessing and entertainment by the Kawika Trask Trio.
The store is the fourth in Hawaii for the national chain. Others include locations at Ward Villages, Pearl Highlands and Kahului, Maui.
The store's latest advertising campaign features merchandise with a "global meets modern" flavor and includes this Survey floor lamp ($125) made of paper rope.

Oahu ikebana group celebrates 45 years
Take in an ikebana display 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through April 21 as the Ikebana International Honolulu Chapter 56 celebrates its 45th anniversary with a floral exhibition at the Honolulu Hale courtyard.
Mayor Mufi Hannemann, the Office of Culture and the Arts, and the Honolulu Centennial Commission join Chapter 56 in commemorating its anniversary and Honolulu Centennial celebrations.
