Moanalua gets win at No. 3 Kaiser

Kekoa Lee and Wade Iwanaga each drove in two runs and Mike Amorozo gave up just three runs in 4 2/3 innings for the win as visiting Moanalua held on to defeat No. 3 Kaiser 7-5 yesterday afternoon.

Lee's two-run double in the top of the seventh inning gave the Menehunes (3-1) a 7-3 lead. The Cougars (3-1) came back in the bottom half, scoring twice and loading the bases with one out, but Moanalua's Peter Arakawa came on in relief and got a Kaiser batter to ground into a game-ending double play to record the save.

The win pushes Moanalua into a tie with Kaiser for second place in the OIA East, a half-game behind Kailua (4-1).

Barron Meyer and Codey Cabael combined on a three-hitter and the Knights exploded for 11 runs in the top of the sixth inning to roll over the Bulldogs.

Lyle Kitagawa scored three times and had four RBIs to lead the Knights.

The Tigers exploded for 16 runs in the first inning, and the Governors had no answer for pitcher Ryan Goto, who struck out seven in three innings and led the Farrington offense by hitting 5-for-5 with two triples and three doubles.

Each player in the Farrington lineup had at least two hits.

Willy Duseigner went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs as the Seariders pounded out 24 hits in routing the Bulldogs.

Waianae's Darius Fuller picked up the win, giving up just one hit and no walks while striking out seven. He also added two triples and three RBIs. inning to break the game open.

Calvin Gipson had five strikeouts and combined with Mike Sanchez to pitch a three-hitter in five innings to lead the Hurricanes over the Golden Hawks.

Sixteen batters went to the plate for Kapolei in a 12-run first inning, and Nanakuli couldn't recover.

Kelvin Lenchanko, Jon Santiago, Mike Kahalehoe and Francis Kahalehoe each drove in two runs for the Hurricanes.
