Kamehameha hands top-ranked Iolani its first loss
Mitchell Kauweloa hit a three-run triple in the second inning to lead Kamehameha over previously undefeated and No. 1 Iolani 9-6 yesterday in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu game at Iolani.
Christopher Pascua, who relieved starter Waylen Sing Chow in the third, got the win as the Warriors improved to 2-3 for the season. The top-ranked Raiders fell to 4-1.
Ashkon Kuhaulua picked up the save.
Wally Marciel led the Raiders' offense, going 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run. Meanwhile, Reyn Nagamine went 3-for-3 in the loss.
Both teams face tough tests in their next games on Friday, as the Warriors go up against No. 2 Punahou, and the Raiders battle Mid-Pacific for first place in the league. The Owls (3-1) moved into second yesterday with a win over Damien.

The Owls came back from three runs down in the seventh inning to defeat the Monarchs.
Aaron Fujiki and Adam Tamashiro each knocked in two runs in the final inning to help Mid-Pacific get its third win of the season.

Kama Moises went 3-for-4, and Kendal Tanigawa added a triple as the Wolfpack collected nine hits in the win.
Micah Mamiya led the Crusaders with two hits and two RBIs.

Four Surfriders collected multiple hits in a win against the visiting Red Raiders.
Preston Nakata went 2-for-2, and Patrick Murphy went 2-for-3 for the Surfriders. Both players hit a double and drove in a run.
MJ Sabido's two-run triple got the Red Raiders within three runs in the fifth.
