Albright to speak at fundraiser for Schatz
Madeleine Albright, the former secretary of state, will speak on American foreign policy April 24 during a fundraising event for Rep. Brian Schatz.
Albright, who Schatz (D, Tantalus-Makiki) said is a family friend, served as the nation's chief foreign policy adviser and representative under former President Bill Clinton.
The fundraiser will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Banker's Club in the First Hawaiian Center. The fundraiser will be for Schatz's campaign for Hawaii's 2nd Congressional District.
Schatz said Albright offered to help his campaign and was coming to Honolulu to address a private business meeting. She is now serving as founder of the Albright Group, a global strategy firm.
Tickets to the event are $250 for a cocktail party and remarks and $1,000 for a private reception and a chance to have a photograph taken with the nation's first female secretary of state.
