Kapolei follows Santiago to easy win over Radford

Jon Santiago was a threat from the plate and the mound as Kapolei handed Radford its first loss of the season with a 6-1 victory yesterday at Kapolei.

Santiago kept the Rams' offense silent, giving up two hits and striking out five. Michael Kahalehoe relieved Santiago in the fifth inning and pitched three scoreless innings to pick up the save.

On offense, Santiago went 2-for-4 and drove in a run. Two other Hurricanes had multiple hits, with Curtis Donald and Aaron Santiago also going 2-for-4.

The Hurricanes broke the game open in the second inning, scoring five runs on seven hits and three Ram errors.

Mike Goodman picked up the loss for the Rams.

Willy Duseigner had three hits and scored two runs as the Seariders shut out the Golden Hawks.

Darius Fuller went 2-for-3, drove in a run and scored two for the Seariders, who improved to 3-0.

Dustin Antolin had four hits and three RBIs as the Trojans routed the Bulldogs with two double-digit scoring innings.

Blayne Kamahiai, Tojo Ishida, Richie Mariano, Brandon Akiyoshi and Joey Aquino each brought in two runs to help the Trojans improve to 2-1.

Trojans pitchers struck out nine batters and allowed just one hit in the shutout.
