‘Bunny Bash’ at the Ocean Club
DAWN'S BIG NIGHT: Dawn Chang, center, celebrated her 25th birthday Saturday with Selena Chang, left, Briana Solidum, Lianna Green and Kristi Perreira at the Ocean Club. A capacity crowd was enjoying a Playboy magazine-inspired "Bunny Bash," the theme of the month for Russell Tanoue's monthly "Piranha Room" fundraiser, when they arrived. Luckily for Dawn and her friends, they were on "the list" and didn't have to wait in line for an hour or more to get in.

NO SHIRT? SERVICE!: Shirtless bus boy Chris Bodoy caught the eye of Donna Chun as he hauled supplies from the kitchen to the front bar and took dirty dishes back to the kitchen. Shirtless men have nothing to do with Playboy magazine, but Chun wasn't the only woman in the club who applauded his decision to work topless for the "Bunny Bash."

WELCOMING MISS DECEMBER: Playboy Playmate Christine Smith, center, Miss December 2005 and "Bunny Bash" guest of honor, was welcomed by Brandy Leaver, left, and Juliet Lighter. Leaver, Miss Hawaiian Tropic USA, will represent the United States at the Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Pageant in Las Vegas on April 17.

LAYING STEREOTYPES TO REST: Local record label exec Junior Mika, left, of Rukkus Entertainment talked with Jason Ulep of the Hypersquad Dance Company. Mika is working with the Office of Economic Development on a project that will give young Samoans here better role models and offer alternatives to the "gangsta" life.

GENE'S ON THE MOVE: Brandy Leaver enjoyed the vibe with longtime friend Gene DeFrancis. DeFrancis is presenting a new round of "Monday Monologues" competition at Jazz Minds, and is also doing improv comedy with Talking Nuts at the Red Elephant on Tuesdays.
