McVea, Atualevao lead Leilehua
Marquesha McVea poured in a game-high 12 points and Isis Atualevao was also in double figures with 10 as host Leilehua defeated Mililani 40-32 last night to remain in first place in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red West.
The Mules outscored the Trojans 16-10 in the second quarter to take a seven-point halftime lead. Leilehua never trailed after that in handing Mililani its first loss of the season.
Mililani's Christina Korodan, who entered the game second in the division in scoring, was held to just four points. Both teams struggled from the foul line, as Mililani converted nine of 18 free throws, while the Mules were 4-for-9.
