Shanghai Tang fashion show helps community
Shanghai Tang will present its first major fashion show in Hawaii as part of the Associated Chinese University Women's annual scholarship and community welfare fundraiser, "Chinese Contemporary Art," April 15 at the Sheraton Waikiki.
On view will be designs for men, women and children from Shanghai Tang's colorful Spring/Summer 2006 collection, featuring an array of casual and special occasion wear, including modern silhouettes incorporating graphic prints on silk and knits.
The event begins with 9 a.m. boutique sales and a silent auction. Lunch is at noon, followed by entertainment by Al Waterson, Cathy Foy and Debbie Nakanelua-Richards, and the show.
Tickets are $55, to help fund college scholarships, academic awards and benefit Palolo Chinese Home. The event marks the ACUW's 75th anniversary.
